Filled with unspeakable regret and great sadness, we announce that Dr. hab. Karol Derwich, professor at Jagiellonian University, has passed away. 

Prof. Derwich was the head of the Department of Latin America and the Mexican Center at the Institute of American Studies and the Polish Diaspora. He will always remain in our thoughts as an excellent lecturer, unique colleague, and scientist with great passion.
