All Saints Day (Wszystkich Świętych)
All Saints Day (Wszystkich Świętych) on November 1st is one of the most important Polish holidays each year. Mostly catholic in its character, the holiday is the reason Poles travel to their home towns and visit their relatives' and loved ones' graves. November 2nd is called All Souls Day (Zaduszki).
If you want to experience the Polish character of All Saints Day, we recommend visiting one of Cracow's cemeteries throughout the weekend, especially after dark or during the religious celebrations - e.g. Cmentarz Rakowicki, which is is the biggest one in the city. However, be advised that there will be heavy traffic around cemeteries that day and all through the weekend.
Also, keep in mind that November 1st is a work-free in Poland when most stores and companies are closed.
