The Beginning of the Academic Year 2019/2020

General Information

JU's Official Inauguration

Just like every year, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University is inviting every student to participate in the opening ceremony of the Academic Year. It starts with a Holy Mass in St. Anne's Collegiate Church, followed by the customary procession of professors in gowns, marching through Kraków to Auditorium Maximum where the main part of celebrations starts at 11 am. Please, keep in mind that in order to attend celebrations in Auditorium Maximum, you have to have an invitation, which you can collect in the Student's Council's office (https://www.facebook.com/samorzad.uj). The number of invitations is limited. However, remember that the whole ceremony is in Polish and you can also watch it via Internet stream. Nevertheless, we encourage you to attend the procession of professors, which is happening only once a year. For more information please visit the link below:

Intro Days take place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics on JU's Campus (https://goo.gl/maps/rKXaNfStvypj9mMn9) on September 27th - 30th. The meetings are held in Polish, English, and Russian. The registration for those who want to attend the events is free, but obligatory and is conducted via this page https://registration.introdays.uj.edu.pl/en -- if you want to attend the event, you have to register. There are also other meetings organized as a part of Intro Days, which take place throughout the City, e.g. visiting some of the museums or other cultural institutions. If you want to attend those, you have to register as well.

Elective Courses

We want to remind you that some of you still didn't choose the elective courses for the upcoming semester. If you want to do so, please send me an email. The list of TAS' elective courses was sent along with the timetable of the Winter Semester. Remember you have to do 5 courses from the P module and 3 courses from the K module to finish your studies (2 courses per semester). You were already registered to all obligatory courses, so you should see your timetable on your USOSweb page as well.
